Common Questions

The Neurological Institute works with many different afflictions, research and therapies. Here are some commonly asked questions and concerns.

Q. How do I get a refill on a prescription?
A. First call your pharmacy and have them fax a refill request to our office. Please allow 3-5 business days for the prescription to be refilled. If you have missed your last appointment, you will need to reschedule and see the physician in order to receive the prescription refill.

Q. What happens if I become sick when the offices are closed?
A. If it is an emergency call 911, otherwise call our main phone number and the doctor on-call will be paged.

Q. How long does it take for Lab results?
A. Normal Lab Testing usually takes about 36 hours. More detailed labs can take up to 6 weeks. If your lab work comes back with NO problems you will NOT receive a phone call. We will call if labs are abnormal.

Q. What should I bring to my first appointment?
A. Bring all current medications, current insurance card, co-pay money, medical records, labs and the patient information sheet that we send to you in the mail completely filled out.

Q. Will you take care of me in the Hospital?
